The girls follow this schedule most days.
Two days a week, Wednesdays and Sundays, we have special activities
(e.g., hiking trips to Mt. Monadnock, kite educational and kite
building sessions, camp carnivals, preparation and practice for
plays). At times, small groups of girls go hiking, spend time at
a special lake site, and practice their camping skills; older girls
may go white water rafting, rock climbing, or canoeing.
Campers may select up to 6 activities before they arrive at camp.
We accommodate each girl's schedule to her own preferences. In
addition to these 6 activities, each girl takes a Red Cross swimming
class each day. Activity classes, for the most part, include campers
from all units except where safety and skill are an issue (e.g.
waterskiing, windsurfing, sailing, swim classes). Girls may select
new activities or continue on with those already selected during
the second two weeks of the session.
We end each day with an Evening Program. The programs may include
quiet evenings around the campfire singing, or more active evenings
of camp-wide "Capture the Flag". Tuesday nights are tent and cabin
nights. If the weather is unusually hot, we may have a camp "Waterfront
Night". |
